Head of History job summary
We are looking for someone with excellent subject knowledge and a passion to engage our students. You will be dynamic, proactive, a strong communicator and motivated with a willingness to uphold our high expectations to secure ‘Outstanding Achievement for All’. This role will suit a colleague who is ambitious for all students and looking to rapidly raise outcomes so that they compete with and then exceed national averages.
We are looking for a Head of History who:
-Has exceptional knowledge of their subject and the ability to make history come alive for students. A clear sense of how historical topics are linked as part of a broader sequence is essential.
-Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a defined sense of ‘what good teaching looks like’ and the ability to teach across KS3 and KS4.
-Demonstrates ambitious standards and has high expectations for all pupils ensuring that there is a robust curriculum and assessment framework underpinned by a strong extra-curricular provision.
-Has excellent organisational skills.
-Can drive forward strategic priorities and translate these into practical actions.
Demonstrates professionalism consistent with the Trust’s values: aspirational, collaborative, inclusive, innovative and responsible, underpinned with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
