We are seeking a confident Head of History who will relish the prospect of transforming lives by sharing their love for the subject. We want leaders who are conscientious, hard-working, enjoy being with children and love to see student success. As a leader there is an expectation to drive strategy and ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Working with a team of staff you will hold others to account as well as supporting staff well-being.

Providing high standards of teaching and learning, using your up-to-date knowledge, skills and expertise you will work within the guidance of all Trust policies and procedures as set out. You will maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of the teaching of History and take account of wider curriculum developments which are relevant to your work. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically leading and delivering the curriculum and will have shared responsibility for the overall effectiveness in providing the highest quality of education for all our students in our outstanding school.

We are looking for someone to inspire our students and promote a love for the subject both in and out of the classroom. History is a popular subject across all the Key Stages and many students choose to continue with History at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The successful applicant will be committed to continuing to develop History across the curriculum and securing the best outcomes for all students.

Hampton Gardens is an 11-19 free school which opened in September 2017 to an initial intake of 180 Year 7 students. When full, the school will accommodate 1200 students in years 7-11 and 300 students in Sixth Form.
