Head of History, Politics and Sociology job summary

We require, for January 2021, a passionate and highly motivated Head of History, Politics and Sociology with the ability to teach History at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and Level 3. Experience of teaching A level History and/or Politics or Sociology is not a requirement but would be advantageous.
Our History department is responsible for delivering courses across Key Stages 3 to 5. The department provides two periods per week in Years 7 to 9. Starting to provide GCSE content in Year 9, it is then a very popular option for continuation into Year 10- usually with 4 teaching groups. This popularity continues post-16. Politics and Sociology usually have one class in each sixth form year group. The department comprises the Head of Department and eight specialist teachers (several with leadership responsibilities within the Academy).
