Head of House (Maternity Cover)

Bloxwich Academy – Leamore Lane, Bloxwich WS2 7NR

Salary: MPS (UPS where relevant) + TLR 1D (£9,272.00)

Start Date: September 2024

Bloxwich Academy are seeking to appoint a Head of House for a Maternity Cover role.

In this demanding yet highly rewarding middle leadership role, you will be instrumental in fostering an environment where pupils receive the very highest standards of pastoral care and where they can get on with learning without distraction. Our Heads of House provide superb pastoral care for their pupils. They are very visible presences around school, taking a lead on reinforcing behaviour expectations.

In addition to that expected of a Teacher, you will manage improvements in attendance and punctuality, lead on House assemblies and purposeful activities across the school and support and manage the school’s behaviour and rewards structure. You will be required to communicate with parents in accordance with school procedures on achievement, improvement or concerns relating to individual pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development at Bloxwich Academy whilst gaining valuable experience within this pastoral and middle leadership role.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have knowledge of what action to take to remedy negative behaviour and when to act decisively;

  • Be able to collaborate well with other leaders from across the school and other Trust schools;

  • Be able to communicate effectively with parents, carers and external agencies.
