Head of Humanities + Geography Lead job summary
Could you be Greig City Academy’s next Head of Humanities? We are looking to appoint a dynamic and innovative teacher to lead our Humanities II Faculty. The successful candidate will be a Geography specialist who will also be managing the Geography Department. The post is for an excellent teacher who is well-qualified, experienced and able to enthuse both students and colleagues.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an enthusiastic team in the Humanities II Faculty. The Faculty includes History, Geography, Psychology, Sociology and Politics/ Criminology, and Travel and Tourism. The successful candidate will have the drive, vision and ability to have an immediate impact on teaching and learning and raising attainment levels across all key stages. You will be able to quickly make your mark and experience genuine job satisfaction in a school that has a close-knit, friendly and supportive community.
As Geography Lead you will be managing a successful department: Geography is a thriving subject and is a popular choice at KS4 and KS5; uptake is increasing at GCSE and A level and students are enthusiastic about the subject. The successful candidate will believe passionately in the importance of fieldwork in Geography and have a proven track record of raising attainment and have a clear understanding of how to use data to track progress and plan intervention.
