Kinver High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Head ofICT/Computer Science and Business to join our ‘warm and welcoming school’ where ‘pupils behave well in lessons’ and ‘are polite and courteous’ (Ofsted Dec 21).
The ideal candidate will share our student-centered values and be an engaging and proactive teacher with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student, regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.
Within the Enterprise Department at KS3 we currently offer ICT and have recently introduced Computer Science in Year 9. At KS4, we offer I-Media, GCSE Business and our first GCSE Computer Science cohort are due to commence in September 2023. At A-Level, we also offer Business, ICT, Computer Science, and BTEC Business.
The school has undergone rapid growth in recent years due to its popularity, moving form a 4-form entry in Year 7 to6-form entry. The school operates its own designated school coach transport service, which means that our intake spans 5 local authorities and our parents and students choose to come to us, making Kinver the non-selective ‘selective’ school.

What the school offers its staff
We are located in the beautiful, rural village setting of Kinver and serve a wide area also comprising the South Staffordshire villages of Stourton, Swindon, Bobbington and Trysull. Over recent years a substantial number of children have travelled in from the southern and western parts of Stourbridge including Norton, Wollaston, Wordsley and from Cookley in Worcestershire. Kinver is also conveniently located for travel to and from Bridgnorth, Dudley and Kidderminster.

Further details about the role
Both Business and Computer Science are becoming increasingly popular subjects and are well-liked and supported by our parents and carers. The ideal candidate will either be an ICT/Computer Science or Business Studies specialist and will be open to working alongside our Trust Director for Computing and existing Business Studies teacher to further develop the department and implement the curriculum .
The department is well resourced. Business is taught in our new Upper School Block and has its own suite of computers. Computing/ICT is taught in one of our 4 computer rooms, and as a school we also have 2 sets of bookable laptops and I-Pads.
We are a highly successful and increasingly popular oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school of 670 students, situated in the picturesque village location of Kinver on the western fringe of the West Midlands. We consistently achieve above national outcomes at KS4 (P8+0.48) and currently have an ALPs score of a 2.
