Head of IT/Computer Science job summary

Reporting to: Associate Assistant Principal for Digital Learning and Communication

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of IT or Computer Science to further strengthen our Computing, IT and Business Faculty. Applications are invited from ambitious, inspirational and talented middle leaders or teachers who believe they have the skills, passion and determination to lead our academy IT education to outstanding. The successful candidate will be an expert in IT / Computer Science, have a proven track record of successful outcomes and will have the knowledge and skills to successfully develop the IT courses at KS3 and KS4.

Ormiston Meridian Academy is a thriving secondary academy in the south of the city, serving 11-16 year old students. Our ambition statement is ‘Shaping Lives, Building Ambition and Igniting Futures’ and every decision we make and action we take is to ensure our students excel as young adults. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Associate Assistant Principal for Digital Learning and Communication (an outstanding Computer Science teacher and leader) and the Head of Business. The level of collaboration within the team is exceptional, making it an ideal role for either an experienced leader or a new leader: either will thrive in an environment where professional development, training and support is the backbone of our success. If you feel inspired by working alongside a team of exceptional teachers and leaders, and have the desire to make IT, Computer Science and Business provision outstanding, then we want to hear from you.
