Job Overview
In addition to the general professional duties described in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document, particular duties will include:
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining an ethos of high morale in which individuals feel valued and where personal endeavor and responsibility are fostered modelling the values of Faith, Excellence and Respect.
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team in setting an example of high-quality performance in standards and leadership.
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring that pupils receive high quality education designed to promote excitement, enjoyment and enthusiasm in learning, leading to the pursuit of excellence.
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring equality of opportunity for all through the school’s policies, procedures and practices.
- To assist in the leadership process, ensuring that staff have access to regular advice, education and training appropriate to the needs of the school and to their stage of development.
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring that parents have access to appropriate up-to-date information about their child.
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team in developing and encouraging positive co-operation between the home and the school.
- To be a decision-maker at Key Stage level in line with the school values and mission.
Line Management by Deputy Headteacher

Leadership
- To lead the pastoral care of KS3.
- To oversee the delivery and monitoring of the morning mission programme.
- To model leadership inspired by the image and life of Christ.
- To report to the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body on these areas.
- To lead the Key Stage Team, including line management of the Deputy Key stage leader and Student Support Officers.
- To play a major role in monitoring and developing the needs and aspirations of the pupils and their future lives; signposting the relevant support including pastoral, academic, enrichment and CIAG.
- To help foster a set of positive staff relationships that contribute to the positive achievement of the pupils.
- To display a commitment to personal development and promote the values of the school.
- To promote a positive image of the school to nurture the well-being of every individual as a Child of God.
- To actively support work on parental engagement and community cohesion.
- To meet with parents when necessary over academic and pastoral issues that arise within the Key Stage.
- To be conversant and comply with school procedures and legal responsibilities.
- To support class teachers within the Key Stage in promoting positive behaviour strategies, in-line with the School Behaviour Policy.
- To liaise with the safeguarding, inclusion and SEND teams to support all students.
- To lead the support the communication process with external professionals.
- To undertake additional duties as defined by the Headteacher.
- To advise and assist subject and class teachers in pastoral care.
- To analyse assessment / behavior data in liaison with the Deputy Headteacher / Assistant Headteacher to inform curriculum development and individual pupil interventions.
- To liaise with the Key Stage 2/3 & 4 Leaders ensuring continuity between key stages.
- To meet agreed targets as identified on an annual basis.
- To draft policies in liaison with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and governors.

- To undertake any other duties in connection with the role of Key Stage Leader as might reasonably be requested by the Headteacher or SLT at any time
- To ensure record keeping is accurate and timely by the key stages team on CPOMS (Safeguarding) and ClassCharts (Behaviour).
