Head of Languages and Internationalism job summary

Required for September 2021

We are seeking an inspirational, dynamic, forward-thinking Head of Languages & Internationalism to develop the school as a centre of excellence for innovative teaching, learning, and cultural/linguistic enrichment. The school part of a small group of schools selected by the DfE to deliver the Mandarin Excellence Programme.

We would love to hear from you if you are an outstanding classroom practitioner with vision, a sound understanding of pedagogy and aspirations to Senior Leadership. Candidates should be ambitious and passionate about playing a lead role in nurturing a love for language learning and a curiosity in other cultures in all students.

You will be able to teach either French or Spanish to GCSE. The ability to teach an additional language would be welcomed. The Faculty currently offers French, Spanish and Mandarin.

Your role will be to lead new initiatives, develop a rich variety of cultural activities, including international residential visits and school-to-school partnerships, and undertake quality assurance activities that will ensure the delivery of high quality learning experiences to our students.

The Languages Faculty is well resourced and housed in recently refurbished accommodation.
