What skills and experience we're looking for

Harrogate High School are seeking to recruit an outstanding and experienced SENCo to join our strong, vibrant staff team to lead our Learning Support & Inclusion provision. We are a values-based school that works to improve the life chances of the young people we serve where all our children are able to enjoy their learning and flourish in a safe and happy environment.

This is an important post within the school’s leadership team. As the successful candidate, you will embrace the Harrogate High School pledge and take responsibility as Head of Learning Support and Inclusion (SENCo) bringing an innovative and creative approach to supporting the strategic direction and growth of our Learning Support and Inclusion provisions. Through effective resource management and development you will be able to achieve excellent outcomes for our pupils. Your reward will be the opportunity to shape a child’s future every single day.

As an excellent teacher, you will be instrumental in laying the foundation of outstanding standards of education and creating a stimulating and purposeful environment teaching classes and small intervention groups within your provision. You will be fully supported by an experienced team of peers who share a vision of effective teaching and learning who help each other to continually improve practice. We have an open-door culture and reflective ethos where we use lesson study to learn from each other regularly.

You will have high expectations, a commitment to raising standards, possess up-to-date knowledge and understanding of learning support and inclusion, with a passion to enhance the learning experience of all our students. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise with all staff at Harrogate High School through our CPD programmes. You will also take an active role in achieving our trust wide Sustainability aims.

What the school offers its staff

We can offer a commitment to your professional development as you will be encouraged to join an appropriate professional learning programme, the opportunity to work in partnership with colleagues from primary and secondary schools across the MAT and the chance to be a part of something truly special.
