The successful candidate for this position will receive an Outwood Welcome Bonus of £5,000 in addition to the annual salary. This will be paid in the first month's salary.

What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a crucial leadership position of responsibility: you will provide academic and pedagogical leadership of the department and work closely with Senior Leadership as part of our commitment to putting ‘Students First’. You will be an inspiring leader with energy and creativity to lead and motivate a team. You must possess skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students.

You will be an excellent teacher with experience of KS3/4 and will have leadership qualities to challenge individuals within your team whilst supporting them to achieve outstanding results. We're committed to delivering the best possible mathematics curriculum and you will work strategically with Directors of Mathematics, a network of outstanding Heads of Mathematics and Senior Leaders across the Family of Schools.

There are significant opportunities for CPD through the Trust for Senior Leadership in school, becoming a Director of Mathematics across a number of academies. Here, there is opportunity for you, to develop your mathematics leadership skills and have a wider impact supporting large number of colleagues and students.

Yorkshire and Humber MathsHub is led by the Outwood Institute of Education's Executive Director of Maths, Kathryn Greenhalgh. The Hub runs highly successful CPD programmes that you can participate in or get involved facilitating. There are amazing opportunities to contribute to the improvement of mathematics right across the region.
