What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you a well-qualified, experienced and inspiring Media teacher? Then we need you to join our highly regarded and successful English department in September as Head of Media Studies. We seek the very best, someone who can consistently teach great lessons and have a proven track record in Media Studies at KS4 and KS5. You should have the personality to be able to enthuse and motivate our students with your presence and creative teaching, as well as your passion for Media Studies.

Media studies is a popular choice for students at KS4 and KS5. The Media department are part of the English team delivering both English and Media lessons. We currently have a team of four Media specialists with the English department. We offer the AQA at GCSE and A-level.

The VI Form is highly successful with students’ progress scores consistently amongst the best in the country. Approximately 20% of the students who join in year 12 are from schools other than our own, and with growing popularity, recruitment to the VI Form is projected to rise over the next few years.

The aim is to develop young learners who are able to pick and choose from the best courses at the very best universities worldwide; young people who have a wealth of research experience from working with some of the best academics in their field of interest.

The person appointed will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect in raising standards for our students.
