We are seeking a Head of MFL with the drive and vision to deliver excellence in languages lessons for all year groups. With a clear focus on outstanding outcomes for students, you will ensure effective teaching and learning is in place in MFL and inspire more students to study a language at GCSE.
Outwood Academy Ormesby is one of 21 secondary schools in Outwood Grange Academies Trust it is a good school where students are encouraged to develop and achieve well. Being part of the Trust means that all staff have access to excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, with scope to build a career across a range of schools. In MFL there is a dedicated team of Directors who provide subject specific CPD and in school support to ensure that quality teaching and learning leads to outstanding outcomes for all students.
The MFL Department at Outwood Academy Ormesby currently offers French to GCSE and therefore applicants need to be able to teach French to KS4, any additional languages are welcome. The MFL department is small and welcoming. Our vision is to open a window on the world to students in the local area and inspire them to be confident communicators and rounded individuals. We have worked closely with the MFL Directors in the Trust to improve our results, which are on an upward trend. We are looking for an inspiring leader who has high aspirations for both staff and students, who is committed, and passionate about language learning. Leadership experience is not essential, but applicants must be able to demonstrate the skills required to lead a department.
