What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious teacher to lead the MFL Faculty within the school. The successful candidate will need to be an excellent classroom teacher with the ability to lead a team and ensure that all pupils make excellent progress. We offer Spanish and French at KS3 and KS4 and the ability to plan an appropriate and engaging curriculum and teach both subjects to GCSE is essential.

The MFL department at St Katherine's offers a rich extra-curricular programme for students to enjoy, including trips abroad. We are looking for someone to build on the success already established and bring creative ideas to promote a love of learning languages across the school.

The position is suitable for both experienced Heads of Department and teachers that are looking for their first middle leadership role/ Head of Department position.

The successful candidate will be:

  • An excellent practitioner who is passionate about teaching and committed to improving the learning outcomes of all students
  • Able to demonstrate a strong record of raising student attainment through their teaching and bring innovative ideas to the classroom
  • Keen to work collaboratively and contribute to a strong ethos of sharing good practice, resources and ideas
  • A team player, able to inspire and motivate colleagues
  • Self-motivated and well organised
