What the school offers its staff

Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of MARK Education Trust (formally Beacon Community College Academy Trust).

The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide exciting opportunities for professional development, and the sharing of good practice across the schools within the trust.

We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy. Our experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff work together so that teachers can teach and students can learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

At Uplands Academy, we are proud of the excellent relationships between our staff and our students.

Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are effectively adapted and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning. We want our children to be happy, successful, and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students. We want to be an exceptional educational establishment for our community.
