What skills and experience we're looking for
Required September 2024 to lead the MFL Department and teach KS4 and KS5 French or German
Experience of teaching both languages to KS3 is
essential.
Experience of teaching the other language to KS4
is highly desirable.
Due to the retirement of our longstanding Head of MFL we have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher seeking their first Head of Department post, or for someone who is already a successful Middle Leader, to lead our forward-thinking MFL Department. The school values MFL highly, it is a core subject at KS4 and French & German are protected subjects at A Level.
We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated
and talented teacher who is eager to inspire and challenge: someone who can
encourage a love of languages and has a passion for learning. There is an
excellent induction programme; a range of experience in the department; and
access to the latest evidence-informed CPD

Beverley High School is a Group 6, five-form entry girls' comprehensive within the East Riding of Yorkshire. 846 students are currently on roll including 99 girls in the Sixth Form. The School, founded in 1908, has developed since 1973 from a grammar school into a fully comprehensive 11-18 establishment. The school celebrated its 116th anniversary in September 2024. Beverley High School is long established with an excellent record and considerable achievements in academic work, music, drama, art and sport. We are particularly concerned to develop each pupil’s good qualities to the full. The school has a long tradition of successful education and enjoys an excellent reputation within the community, both at local and county level. The school features in the “Good Schools’ Guide” and annually receives awards from the SSAT for exceptional results.
Subject departments are housed in purpose-built rooms set amidst fine grounds. We have a dedicated Learning Support Centre and Sixth Form Block, a large Sports Hall with Dance Studio and an impressive Art/Technology Centre.
