What skills and experience we're looking for

Required September 2024 to lead the MFL Department and teach KS4 and KS5 French or German

Experience of teaching both languages to KS3 is essential.
Experience of teaching the other language to KS4 is highly desirable.

Due to the retirement of our longstanding Head of MFL we have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher seeking their first Head of Department post, or for someone who is already a successful Middle Leader, to lead our forward-thinking MFL Department. The school values MFL highly, it is a core subject at KS4 and French & German are protected subjects at A Level.

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and talented teacher who is eager to inspire and challenge: someone who can encourage a love of languages and has a passion for learning. There is an excellent induction programme; a range of experience in the department; and access to the latest evidence-informed CPD

What the school offers its staff

Beverley High School serves the East Yorkshire market town of Beverley and its surrounding villages. We were delighted that in 2021 Ofsted saw what we see every day, fabulous young people working very effectively with our hugely dedicated and highly skilled and knowledgeable staff team. We are proud that the regulator recognised the very many achievements of our staff and pupils and particularly their acknowledgement that Beverley High School always puts the interests of pupils first; inspires a love of learning; has a culture of high ambition; and enables pupils to reach their full potential. We are justifiably proud of our pupils and staff and look forward to working with someone who wishes to share our vision and contribute to our future successes.
