Head of Modern Foreign Languages job summary

Wootton Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity to appoint a new Head of Modern Foreign Languages. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated and inspirational leader to head our MFL team.

Modern Foreign Languages has a high profile at the Trust with public examinations results have been strong over the past three years. In French, 82% of learners gained a Grade 4+ at GCSE in both 2018 and 2019. At A Level, all students gained a grade A*-B. Results across all languages have generated positive value added scores.

The successful candidate will have a:
 relentless focus on maximizing student progress;
 clear vision of outstanding MFL provision;
 passion for teaching MFL to all children;
 strategy to increase the proportion of students learning a MFL to GCSE and beyond.

The role will include:
 teaching across the age range, including A Level in French and/or Spanish;
 providing inspiring leadership of staff;
 developing enrichment opportunities for all children;
 building links with our feeder middle schools.

The successful candidate will receive:

 Line Management support from a Local Area of Middle Leaders and a Senior Leader.
