City of London Academy Highgate Hill, opened as a mixed, all-ability, non-denominational academy in September 2017, and is housed in a lovely building with excellent facilities for students, staff and the community. With the support of our enthusiastic students, diligent staff, supportive parents and cohesive governing body, we strive to provide a calm and purposeful learning environment underpinned by high expectations.
We are seeking a Head of Music to join us in September 2022. As a member of our staff you will be instrumental in laying the foundation of outstanding standards of education and creating a stimulating and purposeful environment where our pupils can make excellent progress. It is essential for candidates to be able to teach Music up to KS4 (up to KS5 would be advantageous).
We are one of 21 schools nationally who participate in the MISST (Music in Secondary Schools Trust) Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme. This programme provides instruments and tuition to all year 7 and 8 students. We currently have a busy programme of extra-curricular programmes which includes a Choir and Student Radio. In addition to the above we have numerous performances throughout the year which include a summer production, concerts and residential trips.
You will have high expectations, a commitment to raising standards of attainment and up-to-date knowledge of teaching and behaviour management strategies. We are seeking passionate and driven individuals with good communication and organisational skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their communities
