What skills and experience we're looking for
Applications are invited for the above post at this outstanding over-subscribed and ambitious school. As Head of Music/ Deputy Faculty Leader, you will join our Arts & Sports Faculty (Redgrave College) and take Leadership and Management responsibility within the Performing Arts & Sport Faculty, as a whole, with primary responsibility for Pupil Outcomes and Educational Quality in Music.
We are looking to appoint a consistently good to outstanding teacher to take an active and visible role within a thriving Music Department. You will be an energetic and enthusiastic individual with first-class music credentials (specialising in brass band) who can achieve good or better results for progress and attainment with your classes.
We are determined that the successful candidate will have:
- A passion for teaching in their specialist subject.
- Developing skills, in securing good to outstanding progress and attainment with groups at KS3 and KS4.
- Well-developed skills in giving strong marking and feedback to students, which leads to well-matched and challenging learning activities.
- Evidence of good teaching currently.
- Alignment with our school values of Manners, Hard work and Honesty.

Mossley Hollins High School is currently in the process of converting to an Academy.This role will be affected by the transfer, meaning that the successful applicant will transfer to the Academy, along with all other school staff. The conversion to an Academy will be undertaken in accordance with the DfE and legal requirements.
