Edmonton County School is looking for an inspirational Head of Music who motivates pupils and staff alike to always strive to do their best. We aim to recruit a committed and ambitious Head of Department who is able to plan and develop a new vision for the Music Department in our school. We are a heavily oversubscribed all-through (4-18) school, which has a reputation for providing outstanding support for staff and students.

We are looking for an (ideally experienced) Head of Music who has a vision to develop and re-model the Music Department at our school. The core purpose of this role is to guarantee the continuance and redevelopment of our Music Department in all key stages, from EYFS to KS5. Candidates should have qualified teacher status with a Music specialism and ideally have leadership and management experience in a secondary school. The candidate needs to be a music practitioner including vocal experience and keyboard skills.

The Music Department is part of a well-established Expressive Arts Faculty which aims to provide a safe, nurturing and creative learning environment for all children across the school. The Expressive Arts faculty is a large, innovative and vibrant team spread across two campuses. The faculty leadership structure includes: Head of Faculty, Head of Art, Head of Design, Head of Music and Head of Drama. The Expressive Arts faculty is supportive and collaborative; we have high expectations to ensure that our pupils have the very best chances of success.
