What skills and experience we're looking for

  • This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of MPS4-UPS3 +TLR 2c allowance.
  • The successful applicant will be required to teach PE and Games to students in all year groups, including Years 12 and 13 and undertake the role of form tutor delivering a fortnightly lesson of Personal, Social and Health Education.
  • We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working as a member of a team, has an optimistic outlook and who is constantly seeking ways in which they can improve on their current practice. Applicants will be expected to have extensive knowledge or experience of teaching at least two of the school’s main sports (athletics, cricket, hockey and rugby) and be prepared to be involved in extra-curricular activities including fixtures on a Saturday morning.

  • The department offers an extensive range of opportunities for the pupils to participate in competitive matches against other schools. In rugby, hockey, cricket and football the school runs year group sides and enters teams in league and cup competitions. Other sports such as basketball, badminton, table tennis and athletics have mixed teams that compete in local competitions.
  • The school has a modern sports hall on the main site along with new changing facilities and a brand new, state of art fitness suite. The school’s playing fields are located on Trinity Road, under a mile from the main site, and include rugby pitches, a cricket square, tennis and netball courts and recently refurbished changing facilities and meeting spaces.
