Head of PE job summary
We are seeking to appoint a driven, energetic and inspiring Head of Physical Education to ensure the PE curriculum is broad, balanced and meets both the National Curriculum and pupils needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Educational Visits to support the Curriculum and develop links with Primary Schools. Responsible for fixtures, and ensuring all sporting fixtures adhere to school policies and ensuring the inclusivity of sport across the curriculum. This role offers a great opportunity to develop and mentor early stage teachers in the Department as well as contribute to whole school training and coaching. The role requires high organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively. Have the ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively and demonstrate initiative in solving problems.
The PE department makes use of many local facilities such as football grounds, GYM and sports centres to stretch all our pupils. The department are commitment to running a range of PE clubs and teams outside of normal school hours.
The school was rated good in all areas by Ofsted in 2015 and we are on a trajectory of continuous improvement. We are committed to high quality learning and teaching for all pupils, ensuring all pupils make rapid progress regardless of their starting point.
