Head of PE job summary
Limehurst Academy is an exciting place to work and learn. Our school motto is Achievement in a Caring Environment. You will see when you visit the school and talk to the students, teachers, support staff and governors that we are passionate about what we do: getting the best out of every child whatever their abilities, interests or ambitions. We have high aspirations for everyone who is part of our community whether student or member of staff. Since January 2021, we are also a proud member of the East Midlands Education Trust.
This post is a crucial one to the school. You will be leading a team of six teachers. PE is a very popular subject at Limehurst; we are proud to still refer to ourselves as a Specialist Sports College. Students in Key Stage 3 have three hours of PE per week; in Key Stage 4, it is one hour per week. We also deliver GCSE PE to those students who wish to study the subject at KS4, and this is a popular choice for students. You will need to have a commitment to extra-curricular sport. You must be able to design and implement an exciting curriculum for teachers to deliver, with inspiring lessons for all ages and abilities within the subject.
