Bright Futures Educational Trust is a multi-academy trust set up in 2011.

As our new Head of People, you’ll have the opportunity to bring your energy, vision, and leadership presence to influence our senior leaders and support on the delivery of our new people strategy alongside our recently appointed Director of People and Culture. You will help shape and deliver our Bright Futures culture that empowers and engages our people, develops our leaders to be great people managers, transforms our Trust through collaborative change, and strengthens our approach to organisational resilience and wellbeing.
This role will work all year round.
As the Head of People, you will:
- Lead People Services across the Trust, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Oversee the development of school and central team people plans, driving workforce planning and organisational change.
- Provide expert HR advice to senior leaders, championing best practices and strategic decision-making.
- Help to shape and implement workforce strategies that foster talent attraction, development, and retention.
- Develop and manage employee relations strategies, ensuring a collaborative approach with trade unions.
- Support the development of data-driven insights to inform workforce planning and HR decision-making.
- Ensure HR policies and initiatives support equality, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience as a Senior HR Leader in a large, complex organisation.
- Expertise in business-led HR strategy, including workforce planning and organisational change.
- Strong background in employee relations, delivering cost-effective HR solutions to complex challenges.
- Experience working with high-level stakeholders in a regulated or public sector environment.
- A track record of leading transformational people initiatives that drive long-term success.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to leverage HR data and insights to help shape workforce strategy.

With significant experience in a leadership position or equivalent, you’ll navigate complex challenges with ease, embedding cultural and behavioural transformation while building trusted partnerships with senior leaders.
The role will be based at The Trust Hub which is located in Flixton, however the post holder will be able to work flexibly in line with the organisations requirements including regular home working. The role holder will travel regularly to all of our schools in the North West.
