We are excited to share this opportunity to join our brilliant People team as Head of People Policy, Process, and Systems. In this pivotal role, you will drive innovation and shape the future of our people policies, processes, and systems, ensuring they are not only legally compliant but also aligned with our values and unwavering commitment to delivering excellence.

As a senior leader, you will spearhead the review and optimisation of our people policies and processes, driving efficiency and innovation to enhance service delivery and employee experience. You will also oversee the strategic development of our HR Information System (HRIS), leveraging data to inform decision-making and support workforce planning.

In collaboration with trade unions, senior leaders, and key stakeholders, you will build strong partnerships and secure alignment for impactful policy and process changes. Reporting directly to the National Director of People and Communications, your work will directly contribute to creating environments where every child and young person has the opportunity to thrive.

This role is a full time, all year-round home-based role with regular travel to our Birmingham office and to our 44 schools nationwide as required.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR leader who thrives on driving positive change and delivering strategic outcomes. You will bring a strong track record in policy development, HR transformation, and systems management, coupled with an in-depth understanding of employment law and national education frameworks such as the Green Book and Burgundy Book.

As a collaborative leader, you excel at building trust and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including trade unions, senior leaders, and your team. Your communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are second to none, and you are adept at managing complex challenges with resilience, discretion, and professionalism.

Ideally MCIPD qualified, you will have a proven ability to lead and deliver complex change initiatives in large or multi-site organisations, preferably within the education sector. You are passionate about embedding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) into everything you do, and you have a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement.
