Head of Performing Arts - Music Specialism job summary
The Hereford Church of England Academy is year 11-16 Secondary School located on the edge of the Hereford, close to the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and the Wye Valley AONB. The City of Hereford is growing with a new University, a rapidly developing enterprise zone, new retail & leisure destinations and a thriving independent food & retail sector.
The Hereford Church of England Academy is part of the Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust. The Trust and the school have new leadership and governance and are on a journey to rapidly improve outcomes for students.
The school building is modern with first class facilities, extensive sports provision including a 3G pitch and a dedicated drama & arts studio.

Head of Performing Arts
Due to the current post holder leaving post we require an exceptional individual to lead our Performing Arts Department. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our middle leader’s team, providing leadership, direction and management for this key subject.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the capacity to lead and manage a department whilst simultaneously driving forward continuous improvement in student outcomes at all levels.
Applicants will have high aspirations and a proven track record of delivering consistently good teaching resulting in a positive impact on student attainment and progress.
For the right candidate, the position offers excellent potential for career development and will provide invaluable experience to build a platform for further progression.
As well as excellent communication skills, you must have high expectations of staff and students. You will consistently model excellent practice and have student achievement and progress at the forefront of your practice.

Here at the Hereford Church of England Academy we serve the community located to the south of the river Wye in the beautiful city of Hereford. We cater for students aged 11 to 16, striving to provide the best possible education and equip all our students to be well rounded and caring citizens who will make a positive contribution to society.
We are part of the Diocese of Hereford Multi-Academy Trust, which stretches from the foot of Eastnor castle to the Shropshire Hills, from the Welsh border to the threshold of the Malvern Hills.
