Head of Phase job summary

Having recently moved into our fantastic new building, we are now looking for an exceptional and inspiring individual to provide high quality leadership and management of key stages, by adopting and modelling a positive and solution focused approach to work which continually and consistently maximises students’ life chances.

As a school we are on an exciting journey of improvement, and have already made strides forwards, but we have more to do. We are determined and motivated to be the best we can be – because our students deserve it.

The ideal candidate for this posts will have a motivational style that encourages commitment from colleagues and students. You will possess excellent communication skills coupled with a proven ability to lead and mentor others - resulting in consistent progress across the phase.

We are currently reviewing our curriculum design and delivery so that it is ambitious, appropriate and accessible. We are also working with colleagues across the Trust to develop a reading strategy to help our students succeed in their qualifications but also to help prepare them for next steps and adult life.

Being part of the Maiden Erlegh Trust also offers a range of career opportunities across our schools. We have a proven track record of supporting ambitious staff in to middle and senior leadership posts and can offer opportunities to broaden your impact on the sector through the work of the Maiden Erlegh Institute. We are very happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, including part-time working and job-sharing.

Maiden Erlegh Trust is an Ethical Leadership Pathfinder organisation and we are committed to safeguarding, equality and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We are also committed to having the highest expectations of pupil/students and staff, and supporting everyone to reach their full potential. All employees of the school and Trust are expected to share these commitments. All posts require satisfactory employment checks and references and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. All Leadership roles will require a Section 128 check.
