HEAD OF PHYSICS - GARFORTH ACADEMY

Garforth Academy are looking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational, hard-working and Head of Physics to join our academy team in May 2020. This is a full time, permanent role.

Salary: MPR/UPR + TLR2B

Our pastoral care system underpins this success with its clear expectations and guidelines. Results

In 2019, 75% of students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths. 55% achieved Grade 5 or above with a provisional Progress 8 score of +0.5. 89% achieved grade 4 or above in English alone, 78% achieved Grade 5 or above and 43% achieved Grade 7 or above. In Maths 78% achieved Grade 4 or above, 57% achieved Grade 5 or above and 24% achieved Grade 7 or above. In all three of the above categories the Academy's results were above the National Average.

Essential educational requirements

•A good honours degree in Science/Physics (A/C)
•A teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (A/C)
•A good understanding of curriculum developments in Science/Physics (A/I)
•Understanding of use of data to assess and inform teaching and learning (A/I)
•New technologies to support learning and teaching (A/I)
