Head of Physics Key Stage 5 job summary
Wootton Academy Trust [WAT] consists of Wootton Upper School, which has 900 pupils in Years 9-11 and Kimberley 16-19 College, which in September 2021 will have 700 students in Years 12 and 13 studying Level 3 courses.
WAT is a happy, successful Trust and we are seeking to appoint someone to join our team and make a positive impact on students’ lives. Staff here are supportive, caring and committed to a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. As a new member of staff, you can expect a warm welcome and a wide range of CPD opportunities to develop your practice and career.
This Head of Physics KS5 position is required due to the increasing popularity of sciences at Kimberley 16-19 STEM College. Kimberley opened in 2013 in a state-of-the-art building that provides excellent resources for both staff and students. Science, Maths and Psychology are the most popular subjects taught at the College.
Student progression from GCSE to A Level is extremely important to us, so while we would expect a sizeable proportion of teaching to concentrate on Key Stage 5, there is also the likelihood our Head of Physics KS 5 will teach across the age range.
Our Head Physics KS 5 will be an outstanding teacher able to teach A Level Physics and GCSE Science [we will have eight classes of A Level Physics in September 2021 - four in Year 12 and four in Year 13].
We hope the attached Job Description, alongside the information on our website, inspires you to make an application and we look forward to welcoming successful applicants for interview.
Closing Date: 09:00 on Wednesday 3rd March 2021. Please note that we will be running this as a rolling recruitment and selection process during the recruitment campaign, therefore please submit your application as soon as possible.
