What skills and experience we're looking for
At our school, RE is a core subject in Year 7 and Year 8. Students then choose specialisms in Year 9 but continue RE through our Wider Modern World provision.RE is a well-liked subject at all key stages which benefits from excellent staff-pupil relationships.The RE and PSHCE department has 3 members of staff and dedicated rooms across school. We serve a diverse range of students which represents the make-up of Leeds. We actively encourage interfaith discussion, debate and learning about different cultures and traditions is at the heart of the work we do in RE.The successful candidate will already have a successful track record in teaching the subject, may have had some leadership and management experience at department level and will aspire to progress their career further in the future.
PSHCE is taught once per fortnight to all students from Year 7-13 by a core team of staff. The successful candidate will work closely with our Careers Lead, SLT and DSL to ensure we deliver an engaging and informative PSHCE curriculum which prepares our students for life beyond school.

Approximately 30% of our students come from ethnic minority backgrounds and we have a resource provision for physically impaired students which really adds to the positive and harmonious atmosphere around school.
