Head of RE and School Christian Ethos job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen to lead our successful RE department and take a lead in promoting the school’s Christian Ethos. If you want to work in a school that values what RE has to offer students, as well as looking after their staff, come and look at Davenant. If you are a current Head of Department or looking for that next step, you could be the right person to lead our RE Department. This position is a full time post and we require someone experienced and enthusiastic, with a strong subject knowledge, who enjoys working in a strong team environment. We would expect the successful candidate to be able to teach at all key stages, have a personal Christian faith and be willing to lead our Christian celebrations working with different church leaders. The job also entails supporting the Senior Team in preparing for SIAMS inspection as well taking a lead on school Ethos.

This is an exciting opportunity for promotion and to work in a school that actively encourages strong participation and competition in all year groups. He or she will help shape the direction of the Humanities Faculty at Davenant Foundation School at an exciting time.

Excellent opportunities for personal development exist as part of our CPD and training programme as well as mentoring within our ITT consortium. Davenant achieves outstanding examination results but has a strong focus on co-curricular provision and seeks to “nurture mind, body and spirit”. Staff enjoy the many opportunities this approach to education offers.
