What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and innovative leader.
Religious Education is delivered at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 where Religious Studies runs as an option subject with sustained strong results. The evolution of the curriculum is a priority moving forward so that our students learn about, and from, a broad range of perspectives to inform reflections on the modern world and key disciplinary themes. We also have a strong desire to introduce Philosophy and Ethics at A-Level. You would be joining a positive and friendly Humanities Faculty which includes History and Geography.

The school was accredited as World Class in July 2021 and as such, we are committed to providing a world-class education for every student through a well-designed and balanced curriculum. We have also implemented a bespoke leadership programme enabling staff to develop their knowledge and understanding of leadership at different levels. This has provided a number of promotional opportunities for staff within the school. Indeed, where possible, we will promote from within our school.
Moreover, we are committed to the Education Staff Well-being Charter, with numerous initiatives in place to support this. They include time for planning off-site for all teachers, active sessions in school and a broad range of workload reforms.

We are looking for an inspirational and forward-thinking existing Head of RE or an ambitious teacher to lead the evolution of the curriculum. This is an exciting time to be leading a subject that plays such a crucial role of informing and stimulating student curiosity, enabling them to reflect upon, and navigate, the complexities of modern society and global issues with diverse knowledge, confidence, compassion and consideration.
