We are seeking an inspirational teacher to become Head of Religious Studies and Philosophy from September 2020. The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range up to A-Level. We wish to appoint an experienced teacher with excellent curriculum knowledge, someone who consistently models excellent practice and has students' progress at the forefront of their teaching.
Coombe Boys’ is a popular and highly successful non-selective 11-18 school that is federated with Coombe Girls’ School and three local primary schools to comprise the Coombe Academy Trust, based in New Malden, Surrey. Essential educational requirements
A good degree in a relevant subject area.
Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE or equivalent).
Essential skills and experience
Have a sound subject knowledge including up to date understanding of changes at KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Able to identify strengths and weaknesses in both staff and pupils and act appropriately.
Places the learner at the centre of everything they do.
A strong classroom practitioner.
To be able to work effectively as a member of a team.
A calm and approachable disposition when dealing with students and staff.
Well organised and efficient; keeping to deadlines.
Willingness to learn to effectively use Google classroom and related systems.
High personal standards and the ability to motivate others to sustain those standards.
Able to provide a stimulating learning environment.
Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
