The Duchy Academy Trust formed in 2014 when three schools, Callington, Boyton and Lewannick Primaries came together in a shared vision of ensuring we provide an environment that prepares children to be confident and happy citizens. We pride ourselves on placing the children at the centre of everything we do, with the vision that they are able to access exceptional teaching which inspires them to persevere and be creative in every aspect of their academic and personal lives. With an innovative curriculum that motivates and excites pupils to learn effectively, we ensure that children are provided with the time and encouragements to allow them achieve the best of their ability and beyond. Parents and carers comment on the enthusiasm and energy of the staff that contributes to a culture that is caring, supportive and encourages curiosity and individuality. The Duchy Academy Trust are looking to appoint an outstanding and inspiring Head of School for January 2022. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and talented leader with a proven track record of raising standards and improving teaching and learning within their schools. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and organisation of the school. There will also be a level of teaching during the week.
Working alongside the Executive Headteacher, you will have the leadership qualities to inspire and encourage staff and pupils, to achieve their very best. Leading on continuous improvements in teaching and learning, embrace the Trust’s mission statement and value that we strive for every day.
The successful post holder will:
• Hold a Qualified Teacher Status
• Be a highly organised individual with the ability to anticipate and manage in different situations
• Have a passion for children’s learning and development with a commitment to securing the best outcomes and put children at heart of everything they do
• Be committed to well-being and mental health for all
• Be well-grounded and inspirational individual with recent experience of senior leadership at primary school level
• Set high standards and holds individuals to account
• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to motivate and inspire others
• Be a highly organised individual with the ability to anticipate and manage in different situations
• Have a passion for children’s learning and development with a commitment to securing the best outcomes and put children at heart of everything they do
