What skills and experience we're looking for

The vacancy at Sunrise Academy has arisen as the current head of school has been appointed to SENDAT School improvement lead.

We are looking for someone with SEMH experience and a mindset that fits our values. We can provide support to develop the right person.

HEAD OF SCHOOL KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Deliver and sustain educational excellence in teaching and learning throughout the school and more widely as part of the SENDAT Senior Leadership team, through a range of effective leadership strategies.

2. Take responsibility as Senior Manager in charge and SENDAT representative on-site for day -today operation of the School.

3. Work closely with the Executive Head / SENDAT CEO and central team to implement and monitor the strategic vision and associated business plan for the school.

Sunrise joined SENDAT Trust on 1st April 2022. It was previously called The Everitt Academy. It caters for up to 52 young people with a full EHCP for SEMH in Key Stages 3 and 4.

We are working with the LA to consider taking some Key Stage 2 students in the future.

As at Trust we are committed to trauma informed practice across all our schools and in all policies we work to. We have trained over 30 Level 5 practitioners and have an ongoing commitment to this. To support this work we have developed out TIS umbrella, which aims to show approaches and programmes that we use across the Trust under our overall TIS approach.
