What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit an experienced outstanding dynamic teacher and senior leader who is passionate about working with children, committed to provide a creative and invigorating learning environment and is driven to raise standards by encouraging all children to reach their potential. The successful candidate will lead by example setting high standards and expectations working with the Executive Headteacher. The role will include a regular teaching commitment and leadership duties. The post is available to join us from January 2025.
As Head of School, we would like someone who demonstrates:
- confidence to inspire trust in others and to be consistently reliable with enough humility to be honest and fair
- professionallism which is supportive of the executive headteacher with skills and expertise to work and lead a team
- they are up to date in current issues and able to give advice on how to bring about changes to match the collective passion of our team
- strong examples of leadership with the ability to question assumptions and communicate effectively to help a team imagine and drive forward change
- they can evaluate outcomes to ensure areas of weakness are developed and ensure action plans are working documents and all targets are SMART
- they base their advice on sound research, carefully evaluating new ideas in education and leadership to draw logical conclusions
- a focus on getting the task done whilst equally building the capacity of a team through management, coaching, leadership and positive praise
- experience and training as a Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead

- consistently deliver carefully planned exciting, inspiring and challenging lessons for all?
- maximise and seek the use of outdoor learning opportunities across the curriculum?
- confidently plan and implement the National Curriculum?
- be committed to be an active part of a team?
- create an exciting and stimulating learning environment?
- experience of teaching mixed age classes would be highly advantageous
- show a passion for working with the community and parents to develop a partnership for learning?
