Head of Science job summary

An outstanding opportunity to lead and teach in a flourishing and forward thinking 11-18 school.

Required for the summer term 2022 for this heavily over-subscribed and successful Church of England Academy, an award-winning Outstanding School (SIAMS).

An inspirational, ambitious and highly motivated teacher is sought to lead a large and thriving department. The successful candidate will have a track record of securing academic success and a value driven vision for the leadership of a talented team of teachers and technicians.

The Science Department is very successful. All pupils take either two or three science GCSEs and last year 87% of Year 11 students gained at least two GCSE grades 9 - 4. The numbers opting to study science in our outstanding sixth form continues to grow with many students then continuing with their studies at selective universities.

The school of 1000 pupils, plus a Sixth Form of 300, is attractively and conveniently situated close to the Ribble Valley and has excellent motorway connections via M65 to M6 and M62.
