What skills and experience we're looking for

Following the retirement of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a passionate, well-qualified Head of Science (i/c Biology) to provide stimulating, dynamic and effective leadership for this core area of our school. The successful candidate will encourage initiative and innovation, further develop a curriculum that fosters a love of the subject as well as achieve high level student outcomes through enthusiasm and expertise.

The Head of Science (i/c Biology) is supported by a Head of Chemistry, a Head of Physics and a Key Stage 3 Leader of Science. The department has great experience in successfully mentoring both ITT trainees and ECTs.

Wood Green Academy is a large 11-19 multicultural comprehensive school set in Wednesbury in the heart of the Black Country. The academy is located about 15km from the centre of Birmingham and has excellent national links by having the M5 and M6 nearby.
