As part of the Extended Leadership Team, the Head of Sixth Form has overall responsibility for the recruitment, induction, retention and academic monitoring of all sixth form students. Primarily, having responsibility for the Year 13 cohort and line managing the Director of Learning for Year 12 and associated Learning Managers to secure excellent standards of achievement, attendance, punctuality and standards while supporting the personal development and well-being of all. The role requires strategic as well as operation elements and includes the astute evaluation of the effectiveness of teaching and learning at KS5, the KS5 curriculum and progress towards targets for students and staff in order to inform future priorities for the Sixth Form. This ensures that practices continue to improve the quality of education provided and meet the needs and aspirations of all students and help continue to raise standards of achievement in the academy. The post holder will lead and drive imaginative strategic initiatives based on the understanding of leading an ethos driven Sixth Form.
