Head of Social Sciences job summary
We are seeking a vibrant Head of Social Sciences that will relish the prospect of transforming lives by sharing their love for the subject. We want leaders who are conscientious, hard-working, enjoy being with children and love to see student success. As a leader there is an expectation to drive strategy, develop all areas of Social Sciences and ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Working with a team of staff you will hold others to account as well as supporting staff well-being. The head of social sciences will work as part of our wider humanities team and as such will be expected to support the teaching and learning of all students within this faculty where required.
Providing high standards of teaching and learning, using your up-to-date knowledge, skills and expertise you will work within the guidance of all Trust policies and procedures as set out. You will maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of the teaching of Sociology and Psychology and take account of wider curriculum developments which are relevant to your work. Subject to relevant experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for strategically leading and delivering the curriculum and will have shared responsibility for the overall effectiveness in providing the highest quality of education for all our students in our outstanding school.
