Head of Social Sciences Faculty job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Head of Social Sciences Faculty. Currently, the Social Sciences subjects sit within a very large Humanities Faculty but, with the continued growth of the school, Social Sciences will exist as its own separate faculty from September. The faculty will be responsible for delivery of GCSE Business Studies and Cambridge National Enterprise & Marketing at key stage 4. At key stage 5, the courses being delivered will be: A level Business Studies, A level Economics, A level Psychology, A level Sociology and BTEC Health & Social Care. There is also scope to offer a vocational programme at key stage 5 in due course. Teachers in the faculty will also continue to contribute to the delivery of key stage 3 humanities subjects and A level Politics – although these will remain under the leadership of the Head of Humanities. The new post holder will be part of the wider Head of Faculty team and, on a day-to-day basis, be supported by two other TLR holders: a head of business/economics and a head of psychology/sociology.
Commitment to safeguarding
Spencer Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students and all posts are subject to enhanced DBS with children’s barred list checks and completion of Level 2 safeguarding training.
