What skills and experience we're looking for
- Degree in related subject
- UK QTS/QLTS
- Experience of working within a school or education setting (secondary)
- Ability to lead, coach and motivate staff within a performance management framework, including professional development and effective management of underperformance
- Experience of supporting students of all ages and abilities to make excellent progress and achieve impressive examination outcomes
- To have knowledge and experience of working in and leading a successful team
- Knowledge of the assessment requirements and arrangements for the subjects/curriculum areas taught, including those relating to public examinations and qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant subject area and related pedagogy including the contribution that the subject area can make to cross-curricular learning
- Ability to set clear expectations and parameters and to hold others to account for their performance, and to challenge underperformance
- Ability to empathise with the needs of students and to be firm but fair and consistent
- A team player with the ability to establish good working relationships with staff, students and parents
- Willingness to share expertise and knowledge with others
- Good health and an appreciation of work life balance
- Flexibility and adaptability in approach
- Resilience in overcoming challenges and tenacity to follow actions through

You will have Qualified Teacher Status and are a strong classroom practitioner who motivates and inspires students with your passion for Social Sciences. You have good interpersonal skills, sound behaviour management skills and have the highest expectations of yourself and our students.

Since becoming an academy in September 2009, Kettering Buccleuch Academy has seen many exciting changes. We are an all-through academy catering for students aged 4-18. We moved into our new, purpose-built building in January 2013.
