Millfield Primary School, part of the Enrich Learning Trust, is a primary school with over 260 pupils and a 16 place Specialist Resource Base in Norfolk. We are a rapidly developing school that has a strong community of dedicated staff who live out our vision and gives every child the chance to succeed. This is underpinned by CARES values that permeate the school.
Our SRB forms part of a county wide programme of SRB provision as part of Norfolk’s Local Offer to children, young people with special educational needs and their families. Our SRB caters for students with a diagnosis of ASD and for students who do not have a formal diagnosis but have barriers to learners associated with the triad of communication, socialisation and flexibility of thinking. The vision is to support this students to access mainstream education.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and passionate Head of the Specialist Resource Base who will ensure every child is given the chance to succeed at our school. The successful candidate will:
- Lead the delivery of the school’s Specialist Resource Base (SRB)
- Lead the strategic development of practice, performance, and quality within the SRB
- Be passionate about inclusive education in line with the school's values and vision for SEND
- Manage a staff team of teaching and support staff within the SRB, providing inspirational leadership which enables individuals to operate at their best and continually improve.
- Provide leadership and guidance to teams, colleagues and partners ensuring a culture which promotes true partnership with parents, carers, and families.
- Maintain the highest standards of teaching, learning, specialist support and safeguarding for the pupils within the SRB, enabling pupils to make accelerated progress and to meet their special educational needs.
- Undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead for the SRB and have clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and practices.
- Make suitable plans for a child’s needs by interpreting both how they present as well as specific assessments and knowledge of their specific needs.
- Encourage children to develop in all aspects of their learning, including both socially and emotionally, promoting the school’s nurturing ethos
