We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher with a real passion for Technology who has the vision to lead this important and highly successful department. This is an exciting opportunity to build upon the already high standards of teaching in the department at all levels. The role is suitable for a candidate who has leadership experience or is ready for the next stage in their career.
Each member of the Technology Department has their own specialist rooms and the department is well equipped, with both traditional and new technologies supported by two technicians. Staff form a hardworking and professional team who have a relentless focus on ensuring all students have a wide ranging and enjoyable experience within the department. Technology is a very popular option choice and students achieve excellent results at both KS4 and KS5.
All students study Technology across Key Stage 3 on a carousel system, studying Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials, Graphics and Engineering.
At Key Stage 4 students can study for GCSE qualifications in Design Technology with specialisms in Textiles, Resistant Materials or Graphics. In addition students can qualify for a Food and Nutrition GCSE, or an Engineering Tech Award.
At Key Stage 5 students study A Level Product Design.
Applications are welcome from any subject within the Technology faculty. We are looking to appoint an experienced teacher who:
• has the vision to inspire and lead other staff
• is able to develop and enhance the teaching practice of others
• can monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
• will develop assessment for learning in the department, including student tracking
• has a proven track record of examination success

You will have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice. You will understand the importance of excellent teaching and learning, having a genuine regard for young people and high professional standards. The ability to work in a team is essential, sharing good practice and providing opportunities for students across the ability range.

Burford School is a highly successful 11-18 rural comprehensive school with Academy status. Established in 1571, we currently have around 1400 students on roll with a strong Sixth Form of over 200 students. Situated high above the town of Burford, on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, the school includes a Boarding House with just under 100 boarders from both the UK and abroad.
