Head of Year 8 job summary
We are looking for a Head of Year 8 in a new school within an aspirational and academically successful multi-academy Trust that offers exciting development opportunities and good promotion prospects for talented and energetic teachers who support the ethos of our schools. Ealing Fields offers comprehensive T&L and CPD opportunities for all teachers and there is a highly evolved culture of peer to peer support and development. The school will move into its brand new permanent site, in Northfields, Ealing, in the summer of 2020. Ealing Fields is a school with a distinctive ethos where relations between staff and students are extremely positive and it is easy for every member of the community to know each other. Staff joining at this time are likely to have a highly motivated drive towards building an outstanding school community within an already high achieving Trust.
The Head of Year 8 will be fully committed to ensuring all students in the year group are supported by effective pastoral systems to enable them to develop robust learning disciplines and make outstanding academic progress within the wider context of their full personal, social and spiritual development. The post-holder will deliver outstanding leadership and management of the Year team, and ensure effective communication with parents and outside agencies. S/he will also ensure all new tutors are inducted into the school ethos and systems, and will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the drive to manage a team committed to achieving outstanding results for all students irrespective of ability. S/he will be enthused by the prospect of maintaining a student learning culture within the Year Group, which is both engaging and aspirational.
