  • Saint John Wall Catholic School is a highly successful oversubscribed 11‐16 school with a mixed and diverse population, serving the community of North West Birmingham.     The Role

    • To support the Catholic ethos of the school, and to safeguard the well-being of all pupils in school.
    • Contributing to the policies through which those aims and objectives might be realised – safeguarding, behaviour, uniform policies
    • Participating in all aspects of pupil welfare, safeguarding and well-being planning.
    • To contribute to the wider needs of the year group by monitoring and evaluating progress towards year group specific priorities as determined by the Pastoral Team.
    • To lead and report on appropriate, swift and effective actions as identified specifically for attendance, punctuality, safeguarding and behaviour for the year group.
    • Raising pupil levels of attainment and achievement.
    • Developing within the year group a sense of community, focusing on personal and academic excellence, the development of the whole person, positive relationships, care for others and a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
    • Teaching responsibilities as per the Teacher of Science job description.
    • Undertake daily duties before, during and after school.
    • Undertake any additional responsibilities as requested by the Headteacher.

    You are someone who has a strong academic skills, and who can work sensitively with pupils from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and religions. We are a ‘Catholic School For All’, and that will be at the heart of everything you do. You will need to be flexible in the role according to the needs of the school and pupil needs.

We endeavour ‘to educate each and every unique child in our care to hear and respond to what God calls them to be’. As a Catholic School we will expect that you actively support the Catholic ethos, and help us to follow the highest standards of safeguarding for our pupils. In our last Ofsted inspection (April 2017) Saint John Wall Catholic School was judged to be ‘good’ and in our latest Section 48 inspection (November 2017) we were judged to be ‘Outstanding’.
