What skills and experience we're looking for
At Blue Coat Church of England Academy, we are committed to supporting the development of all our students. With this in mind, we are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, inspiring and enthusiastic Head of Year to expand and develop our highly effective pastoral team.
The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will play a key role in supporting the development and welfare of our students. All members of our pastoral team play a key role in protecting and safeguarding young people.

Leaders have instilled a culture of safeguarding across the school. This means that staff act in the best interests of pupils. Pupils know how to protect themselves online and offline. Pupils know whom to speak to if they have any worries.
Blue Coat Church of England Academy is one of the oldest educational establishments in Walsall, is well-respected and valued by the community it serves. We operate on a very collaborative approach to school improvement working with a range of other schools and nationally recognised trainers. The school is very proud of the family ethos which pervades all aspects of its work, which is grounded in Christian values.
