Head of Year
Our school, which is a member of the Kemnal Academies Trust, is committed to raising standards and creating a high quality-learning environment. An exciting middle leader opportunity has risen at Bridgemary School, for us to appoint to this critical school role. Applicants must be able to teach one of the following subjects to GCSE: Science, IT, Business Studies or PSHE.
We are looking to appoint a colleague to the post of Head of Year. This post is directly accountable to the Deputy Headteacher Pastoral. In order to ensure that all young people who attend Bridgemary School develop in such a way as to enable them to make the most of opportunities in the world, we focus our efforts on growing their character and helping them improve the culture in which they operate. By supporting students to become the best versions of themselves alongside strong personal health and wellbeing, we will be better preparing our young people for the rigours of GCSEs, further study and the life of work.
We strive to ensure that all students leave Bridgemary with as many doors open to their exciting futures as possible. To do this they should be successful both academically and in their personal character and this personal character is where this role fits in. The successful candidate may be an existing middle leader or maybe stepping into leadership for the first time. They will be morally driven and recognise the importance of a child’s character development. They will be relentless in their pursuit of excellent character development provision, thinking strategically about what their year group, smaller groups and individuals need to grow into healthy, independent and civic minded young adults. We will provide a supportive and compassionate working environment that encourages new ideas and enables you to grow and become a strong leader ready for future progression if so desired.
Bridgemary is continuing its journey to being superb and you will be a key part of this journey as you shape student’s characters. It is an exciting time for Bridgemary with ever increasing numbers. Fancy going home knowing that you’ve made a real difference in a young person’s life? Knowing that you’ve helped them open doors for bright futures? If so, come in and see us. Meet our superb staff and wonderful children and really get to understand the journey that you could be on with us.
In return, we will support you with a high quality Continued Professional Development Programme, a competitive salary for quality staff and a well-resourced teaching environment.
