Head of Year job summary
We are currently seeking a Head of Year, to lead teaching, learning and pastoral care in Year 9 from September 2020. The successful candidate will become a member of our hard-working, innovative Raising Standards team, dedicated to removing barriers to learning and improving life chances for all students. The successful candidate will be proactive, well organised and able to lead and manage a wide range of staff and students. They will be an excellent teacher in their own right, who consistently leads by example, and is adept at supporting and developing both teachers and students. Alongside duties such as tracking student progress and leading assemblies, the successful candidate will lead a team of tutors and be responsible for the implementation of the Year 8 tutor programme. In return for your passion, commitment and drive, we offer a highly supportive working environment, students who are intellectually curious and keen to learn, and outstanding continued professional development opportunities, including access to the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) suite of training. It is hoped that the successful candidate will take then take the year group into Years 10 and 11, building excellent relationships with parents and students, and gaining a broad range of experience.
