Head of Year job summary

We are seeking to appoint a teaching Head of Year who will lead their year group towards academic success. The role forms part of our experienced and supportive pastoral team to make a difference with our young people. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, highly motivated teacher with experience of leading students to high levels of academic success.

The team is established and highly supportive. They work collaboratively, always putting the needs of our young people at the forefront of what we do. Our pastoral structure consists of Directors of Key Stage, Heads of Year, Student Managers, and form tutors, supported by key colleagues on the Senior Leadership Team.

This role offers you the opportunity to develop and excel as a teacher, within a strong and effective team of practitioners, whilst also leading and supporting students through their academic journey.

You need to:

Have excellent interpersonal, organisational, and managerial skills

Have the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and other professionals

Have a strong commitment to innovative pastoral development, student support and staff development

Be able to demonstrate how your work has had a significant impact on the whole school as part of a team

Be well organised, hardworking and enthusiastic
